Bruno Saltor will select a team for the first time in his coaching career against Liverpool on Tuesday night after being installed as Chelsea’s interim boss.
The 42-year-old Spaniard has been tasked with overseeing a turnaround in Chelsea’s fortunes following Graham Potter’s brief and underwhelming reign in the Stamford Bridge dugout.
With the Blues expected to conduct an ‘exhaustive’ process to decide their next permanent manager, Saltor could well be in the hot seat for the final weeks of the season.
Saltor insisted in his first press conference that ‘processes take time’, but he will need to kick-start the team with a Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid fast approaching.
