Ben Chilwell is set to stay at Chelsea unless a new club arrives with a late January window swoop that can revive the England left back's career.
Sources say Chilwell is not close to leaving the Blues, for whom he has appeared only once this season – as a substitute in the Carabao Cup win over League Two Barrow in September.
The 28-year-old Englishman has continued to train at Cobham to maintain fitness but with nothing currently lined up, he is now facing a full season without meaningful first-team football.
Chelsea had hoped to find him a loan this month in order to give him regular game time between now and the end of the season.
