Chelsea have taken a commanding lead in the Europa League final against Arsenal this evening, with three goals in less than 20 minutes in the second half.
The two London clubs are meeting in the Azerbaijani capital in the first of two all-English European finals this week.
Striker Giroud, who had a long spell at Arsenal, gave current team Chelsea the lead after 49 minutes, stooping to head in a cross from the left.
He celebrated passionately by sinking to his knees, before being mobbed by his elated teammates.
Spanish winger Pedro added a second goal ten minutes later, firing home after a cross from Eden Hazard.
