Andrea Pirlo will not become Chelsea's new assistant coach, insists Antonio Conte.
Former Chelsea assistant Ray Wilkins told talkSPORT earlier this week the 37-year-old had been a regular visitor to Stamford Bridge and was Conte's number one choice to replace Steve Holland.
Pirlo, currently playing for New York City FC in Major League Soccer, played under the Blues boss at Juventus and for the Italian national team.
But Conte, speaking ahead of his side's clash with Bournemouth on Saturday, is bemused by the reports claiming they will link up again at Chelsea.
