Chelsea coach Antonio Conte praised the battling contribution of new striker Alvaro Morata after his debut in Tuesday's 3-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in Singapore, while Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti cheered the play of his own newcomer James Rodriguez.
Morata came on as a 63rd-minute substitute in the International Champions Cup clash with Chelsea trailing 3-1 and put himself about before having a hand in the Blues' second goal, scored by Michy Batshuayi.
"It's too early to speak about the impact of Morata," Conte said. "He has only been with us for two days and he needs time to work and find his feet and to understand our way of playing.
