Andros Townsend admits Everton's players let Frank Lampard down before he was sacked, revealing he 'feels sorry' for his former manager

Former Everton forward Andros Townsend has admitted that Toffees players let former manager Frank Lampard down.

Lampard was sacked as boss in January with the club at risk of relegation for the second season in a row, before Sean Dyche arrived and steered the side to safety on the final day of the season.

Lampard had kept Everton up the season prior, but that didn't give him enough credit in the bank and he was dismissed at the start of the calendar year before taking the reigns at Chelsea.
