Like most of us Hornets fans, I was devastated when I heard the news of Michael Kidd-Gilchrist’s torn labrum. With the team quietly becoming one of the better squads in the Eastern Conference, it seemed as though us fans were going to finally have a team we could enjoy not only now, but for years to come. Well, the present now seems like it could be a lot less successful, as losing Kidd-Gilchrist all but guarantees our defense won’t be as elite as past years with him healthy. Even with a much improved offense, it was the defense of this unit that was going to help us get over the hump this year.
