The Hornets are hiring Warriors assistant Kenny Atkinson as their new head coach, ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski reported Friday.
Atkinson is best known for his four-year stint as head coach of the Nets. Brooklyn made the NBA playoffs just once during his tenure, but young players like Jarrett Allen and Caris LeVert flourished, eventually becoming pivotal pieces of the trade that brought James Harden to Brooklyn.
