After finishing 36-46 this past season, the Charlotte Hornets are back in the lottery for the first time since 2015. With the 11th worst record in the league, they will have a 0.8% chance of getting the first overall pick and a 2.9% chance of getting a top three pick this summer. (BleacherReport.com) The team selected 22nd overall last year but this time around, they will have a chance to get a star player if everything falls their way.
While it is super unlikely that they win the lottery, it is not impossible. Since the lottery system was implemented in 1985, only once in NBA history has a team with the 11th worst record won and the was the Orlando Magic back in 1993.
