Come next month, it’s within the realm of possibility that the Charlotte Hornets will get to see Kemba Walker wearing an NBA All-Star uniform for the first time.
Should that happen, however, it’s unlikely the point guard would look as memorable in that Eastern Conference getup as he does in a cowboy hat, a duster coat and a longhorn belt buckle – an ensemble he gamely sports in a so-intentionally-bad-it’s-good marketing campaign aimed at getting him to New Orleans for the Feb. 17-19 All-Star Weekend.
The cornerstone of the campaign is a series of videos that can be found at the “Walker, Charlotte Ranger” website; and yes, you might groan upon realizing that this is a play on “Walker, Texas Ranger.
