The Michael Jordan era of being an NBA owner is nearing an end after it was announced that the Tar Heel legend would sell his majority stake in the Charlotte Hornets.
The announcement of Jordan’s 13-year run of ownership Hornets ending came Friday with the Jumpman selling his share from an estimated range of 2 to 3 billion to a group led by Gabe Plotkin and Rick Schnall, according to ESPN. Despite not having much success owning the Hornets, Jordan’s finical success remains true, purchasing his stake in the Hornets 13 years ago for only 275 million to flip that into billions.
