Forward Jabari Walker had no clue that the Portland Trail Blazers set a franchise record for margin of victory by defeating the Charlotte Hornets 141-88 on Saturday night.
“Is it?” Walker responded when told the 53-point win was a record. “Oh, it is? I’m part of history. I love it. I want to do it again. Let’s break it next game.”
The Blazers have experienced more than their share of blowout defeats during their rebuilding efforts. Last season, the team suffered two of its three 60-point losses in franchise history.
“We’ve definitely been on the other side of that too many times as a group,” Blazers coach Chauncey Billups said.
