Charlotte Hornets point guard Tony Parker announced that he was retiring from the NBA today, via Marc Spears of the Undefeated. His reasoning:
A lot of different stuff ultimately led me to this decision. But, at the end of the day, I was like, if I can’t be Tony Parker anymore and I can’t play for a championship, I don’t want to play basketball anymore.
Parker clearly misses his time with the San Antonio Spurs and understandably struggles getting motivated to play for a team that doesn’t have title aspirations.
