With the twelfth overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft the Charlotte Hornets selected P.J. Washington, forward out of Kentucky.
Washington improved massively from his freshman season to his sophomore season at Kentucky. He became a very good 3-point shooter to round out his already solid all around game. He averaged 15.2 points, 7.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 blocks, and 0.8 steals per game while shooting 52.2/42.3/66.3% from the field/3-point line/free throw line.
Washington should contribute for the Hornets almost immediately. He can slide into the four spot alongside Miles Bridges to form an athletic, well-balanced attack from the forward spots.
