With the 52nd overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft, the Charlotte Hornets selected Jalen McDaniels, forward out of San Diego State.
McDaniels has floated around as a popular late round flier among many fans. He’s a tall, long forward with tremendous defensive potential. He didn’t shoot particularly well from the perimeter, but he did improve his 3-point shooting from 21.1% as a freshman to 32.0% as a sophomore while more than tripling his attempts. He also shot over 75% from the free throw line and averaged 11.3 rebounds per 40 minutes for his career.
