After Jorge Gutierrez’s second 10-day contract ran out with the Charlotte Hornets, the team decided to officially sign him for the remainder of the season. General Manager, Rich Cho, announced on March 11th that the team would sign Gutierrez for the year.
The team originally signed Jorge when they were in need of a third string point guard after trading Brian Roberts to the Miami Heat near the trade deadline. Gutierrez was playing in the NBA Developmental League when the Hornets signed him.
Charlotte signed him to a 10-day contract on February 20th and then signed him to a second consecutive one on March 1st.
