Looking for a meaningless game between two of the worst teams in the NBA?
Well, it’s not Sunday’s matchup between the Portland Trail Blazers (15-40) and the Charlotte Hornets (14-42).
The Blazers, owners of the fifth-worst record in the NBA, will enter the contest 1 1/2 games ahead of the Hornets in the overall NBA standings.
That means a Blazers’ loss would put them just a 1/2 game out of having the fourth best odds of landing the No. 1 pick in the 2024 NBA draft lottery.
The Hornets on Friday night lost 97-94 at Golden State to end a four-game winning streak.
