CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Philadelphia 76ers were looking to finish off a quick 2-game road trip the right way when they paid a visit to the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday in the NBA Cup. Both teams were already eliminated from advancing to the knockout round, but Philadelphia was looking for momentum.
The Sixers received a strong effort from just about everybody, but Paul George had 29 points and eight assists as the Sixers held off the Hornets 110-104 on the road. Philadelphia was still missing Joel Embiid, but Charlotte was missing LaMelo Ball, Miles Bridges, and others. The Sixers led by as many as 19, but then trailed by one late in this one.
