As the Oklahoma City Thunder graduated from a rebuilding situation to a title contender, their future Februarys will be spent viewed as a buyer instead of a seller. That comes with the territory of contention.
The Thunder already had their first taste this past season. They acquired Gordon Hayward from the Charlotte Hornets for Tre Mann, Vasilije Micic, Davis Bertans and second-round draft picks. The deal was met with praise. The 34-year-old was a perfect fit on paper. He'd be a great scorer and can shoot from outside. It was an exciting addition that just made so much sense.
