NEW YORK -- The Brooklyn Nets (6-9) were coming off a disappointing weekend at the New York Knicks in which Brooklyn was close to winning one game while not being particularly close to winning the other. With the Nets trying to make up for the past couple of games, they came home to face the Charlotte Hornets (5-9) as part of group play in the NBA Cup and they pulled out a close one.
The Nets beat the Hornets 116-115 to improve to 1-1 within their group thanks to 34 points from Cam Johnson in a game where he was consistently good throughout the contest.
