NEW YORK -- The Brooklyn Nets (6-9) had some unfortunate news coming into Tuesday's 116-115 win over the Charlotte Hornets in East Group A play of the Emirates NBA Cup. Guard Cam Thomas, the leading scorer for the Nets this season at 24.6 points per game, was ruled out prior to tipoff with lower back tightness and head coach Jordi Fernandez explained what happened.
"Yeah, he (Thomas) was not feeling good and we told him that we're not going to risk, obviously, anything. We want guys to be not 100%, but 200%," Fernandez said following Tuesday's game in which Brooklyn was able to make up for Thomas' absence by sharing the ball more and getting more players involved.
