P.J. Washington’s restricted free-agency experience has not gone well. After receiving a qualifying offer from the Charlotte Hornets before the onset of the free agent signing period, there has been little action involving the soon-to-be 25-year-old forward. Plenty of rumors and speculation have surrounded Washington, with nothing tangible coming to light.
The possibility exists that Washington could sign the qualifying offer and return to Charlotte to become an unrestricted free agent next year. But if that is an option not on the table from Washington’s point of view, a mock trade proposal could see this saga coming to a much-needed end.
