Michael Jordan’s impact reaches far beyond the basketball court.
The NBA legend and owner of the Charlotte Hornets has donated $10 million of his personal funds to open two medical clinics in his home state of North Carolina, bringing his total donation for health care to $17 million. Novant Health announced Monday that the contributions will mean clinics can open in early 2022 in New Hanover County, North Carolina, where Jordan grew up and attended high school in Wilmington.
“I am very proud to once again partner with Novant Health to expand the Family Clinic model to bring better access to critical medical services in my hometown,” Jordan said in a statement.
