Nagging injuries limited Charlotte Hornets big man Al Jefferson to just 65 games last season, so he decided it was time for change and a new diet, starting with cutting out his favorite food, fried chicken.
“Every Popeye’s commercial I see, I have to turn the TV off,” Jefferson said.
The restraint as worked, though, according to the Charlotte Observer, as Jefferson has lost 20 pounds this offseason by swearing off the chicken, as well as sugars and starches. He's hopeful it will pay big dividends since the last time he made a major change to his diet and workout habits, he went on to have the best year of his career in 2006-07.
