Right after acquiring Luka Doncic in arguably the biggest trade in NBA history, the Los Angeles Lakers set out to complete their roster and give themselves a real shot at contending for the NBA championship right away.
Just a few days later, they agreed to send rookie sharpshooter Dalton Knecht, forward Cam Reddish and a 2031 first-round draft pick to the Charlotte Hornets for center Mark Williams. Williams has missed quite a few games in his three pro seasons, but he is a lob threat as well as an excellent rebounder and a promising shot-blocker who can run the floor in transition.
