Australian point guard Josh Giddey raised plenty of eyebrows when the Oklahoma City Thunder selected him with the No. 6 overall pick in the 2021 NBA Draft.
The 18-year-old is the second-youngest player in the NBA, but in his first pre-season game, he looked more a savvy veteran than rookie, pouring in 18 points, seven rebounds and three assists on 8-of-12 shooting, in a 113-97 loss to the Charlotte Hornets.
"I didn't have any expectation, it's early," Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault said post-game. "As we know, there's a lot of ups and downs. He looked like that in practice but you never know until the game starts.
