A projected first-round pick entering NBL 21, Josh Giddey was an intriguing prospect as a Next Star with the Adelaide 36ers.
Long touted as one of the rising stars in Australian basketball, Giddey was approaching a season that could make or break his immediate entry into the NBA.
What followed was an exceptional rookie season as a professional, with the 18-year-old averaging 10 points, seven rebounds and seven assists on a 36ers roster that spent the bulk of the season without key players through injury.
The stats didn't tell the entire picture though, it was the way Giddey was able to run an offence with poise and precision.
