Down two starters, Jared McCain responded with a sensational performance to lead the Philadelphia 76ers to an overtime win over the Charlotte Hornets to snap a five-game losing streak.
McCain produced a career-high 27 points, three rebounds and two assists in the 107-105 win at the Wells Fargo Center. He finished by shooting 10-of-18 from the field, including 3-of-8 from 3-point range, in 31 minutes off the bench as the Sixers improved to 2-7.
The 16th pick scored 23 points in the second half, including overtime, to help the Sixers, who were without Joel Embiid (suspension) and Tyrese Maxey (hamstring).
