Charlotte Hornets president Mitch Kupchak on Friday left open the possibility that rookie LaMelo Ball could return to play this season following surgery to address a fracture in his right wrist.
Ball was initially expected to miss the rest of the season following the injury, but further evaluation showed that may not be the case. Kupchak said the hope is Ball will spend five weeks in a cast and then rehab the injury to regain flexibility and the ability to shoot again.
Of course, his timeline to return is not set in stone and could need additional time but the latest update offered by the team is encouraging.
