Hornets point guard LaMelo Ball suffered a right ankle fracture that could sideline him for the rest of the 2022-23 season.
The injury occurred during the third quarter of Charlotte's game against Detroit on Feb. 27. He immediately left the game for an x-ray, which showed the fracture in his ankle.
Ball, the No. 3 overall pick in the 2020 NBA Draft, was in the midst of the best season of his young career. He has averaged 23.4 points, 8.5 assists, and 6.4 rebounds per game in the 2022-23 campaign.
