February 1, 2016 – Charlotte Hornets President & COO Fred Whitfield delivered the keynote address during Campbell University’s Founders Day Celebration today (Monday, Feb. 1), which kicked off the school’s Founders Week 2016. Founders Week is a week-long celebration centered on the university’s founding in 1887 and its achievements since then. This is the second year Campbell University has held a Founders Week.
As part of the day, Whitfield officially endowed the Coach Danny and Barbara Roberts undergraduate scholarship at Campbell University. This scholarship honors former Campbell head basketball coach Danny Roberts, who coached Whitfield with the Camels, and his late wife Barbara.
