CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Charlotte Hornets have signed forward Moussa Diabate to new multi-year contract, the team announced Sunday.

Diabate, 23, was on a two-way contract with the Hornets. His new deal is reportedly a three-year contract, according to ESPN’s Shams Charania.

Diabate is in his first season with the Hornets and has appeared in 42 games. He is averaging 4.7 points and 7.1 rebounds. His 5.9 offensive rebounds per 36 minutes ranks third in the NBA this season.

The move comes one day after the Hornets’ trade with the Los Angeles Lakers fell through because center Mark Williams failed his physical.
