It was always going to be tough for the Charlotte Hornets to waive Caleb Martin after his strong preseason. They elected not to do that, and instead converted his contract to a two-way deal.
The two-way deal allows Martin to spend up to 45 days with the Hornets over the course of the season. The rest of his time will be with the Greensboro Swarm.
Martin seemed destined for a full time role with the Swarm when he signed a summer contract in the offseason, but he quickly played his way above that.
