Hornets predicted to land former No. 1 overall pick in trade with Pelicans

The Charlotte Hornets are looking much better this season under new head coach Charles Lee, and they might be tempted to take a risk on an injury-prone unicorn on the trade market.

A new development with the New Orleans Pelicans that would have sounded unbelievable even a calendar year ago has now materialized: the Pelicans might be willing to trade former No. 1 overall pick Zion Williamson.

On Friday, Bleacher Report’s Zach Buckley named the Hornets as likely suitors for Williamson should he hit the market. Buckley outlined a deal in which Charlotte acquires Williamson by sending New Orleans a huge package comprised of Tidjane Salaün, Grant Williams, Cody Martin, Vasilije Miciu0107, a 2027 first-round pick, a 2027 first-round pick, and a 2025 second-round pick.
