CHARLOTTE, N.C. (WBTV) - Charlotte Hornets legend guard Kemba Walker announced his retirement from the NBA on Tuesday, July 2 via Twitter.
“I want to start this by thanking God for everything he has given me. Basketball has done more for me than I could’ve ever imagined, and I am super thankful for the amazing journey I’ve had,” Walker said in his post to Twitter.
He was the 9th overall pick in the 2011 NBA Draft when he was selected by the Charlotte Bobcats. He was a three-time all-star with the Hornets and made one all-star appearance with the Boston Celtics.
