The first exhibition contest of the season for the Charlotte Hornets is officially in the books as they came up just short against the Celtics, falling 107-106, on Sunday, Oct. 6 in Boston.
Rookie PJ Washington racked up 16 points on 6-of-7 shooting (3-of-4 from three), seven rebounds and two assists in just 20 minutes off the bench. All but one of the University of Kentucky product’s points came in the second quarter.
Charlotte held a 17-point lead with 8:11 remaining in the third, but Boston closed out the frame on a 20-4 run to cut the deficit down to just one.
