The Charlotte Rollin’ Hornets Wheelchair Basketball program got a surprise visitor during their clinic at Spectrum Center on Sunday afternoon when Nicolas Batum joined the team to take part in some drills and a five-on-five scrimmage. The Hornets guard quickly jumped into the action upon arrival, grabbing a wheelchair of his own and seeing firsthand how challenging the sport really is.
“Those kids were between like 7-13 years old and they’re unbelievable. That’s not easy to do, trust me,” said a tired Batum afterwards. “I did only 25 minutes and I’m tired. I’m glad we’re not playing tomorrow.
