October 29, 2015 – The Charlotte Hornets today announced the activities and promotions that will take place around their home opener on Sunday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m. at Time Warner Cable Arena. Lowe’s will be the game’s presenting sponsor and all fans in attendance will receive a commemorative teal tuxedo T-shirt. In addition, fans attending the opener will be the first to receive the new Swarm Socks. The Swarm Socks hearken back to 1988 when tube socks were popular and the Hornets debuted the fashionable purple and teal. With the Hornets back in Charlotte, the socks have returned too with the launch of a new tradition as fans are encouraged to bring their Swarm Socks to Hornets games and wave them in support of the team.
