Memphis Grizzlies rookie Jaylen Wells is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season after a hard fall this week, the team announced on Friday.
Wells was hospitalized after he was undercut on a dunk attempt during a win over the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday. He left the court on a stretcher and was taken to a local hospital after about a 20-minute game delay as the Grizzlies' training staff and EMTs tended to him.
The 39th pick was released from the hospital on Wednesday with a fractured right wrist, a facial laceration and a concussion.
