The Charlotte Hornets announced Wednesday that shooting guard Gerald Henderson officially decided to exercise his player option for the 2015-16 NBA season.
Spotrac notes Henderson will make $6 million in the final year of the contract before potentially hitting the market as an unrestricted free agent next summer. Jonathan Jones of the Charlotte Observer noted the interesting timing of the decision:
