After a 4-7 start to the season, the Rockets announced on Wednesday that they fired coach Kevin McHale. McHale was clearly losing the locker room, so assistant coach J.B. Bickerstaff will handle the coaching duties for the rest of the season. It didn’t take long for him to settle in and he quickly decided to shake things up by replacing Ty Lawson in the starting lineup with Jason Terry. Lawson has been pathetic this season and was averaging just 8.9 points and 5.6 assists on 33.3 percent shooting from the field, so it wasn’t a surprise.
