CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The Cleveland Cavaliers had a spate of built-in excuses to fade at the end of this taxing road trip.
They didn’t have to use them.
Road weary and groggy, the Cavs reached deep into their energy reserves and beat the Charlotte Hornets, 113-110, finishing with a 3-2 record on the trip. The win moves Cleveland back to .500 on the season. It’s the first time since 2016 the Cavs compiled a winning record on a road trip of five games or more.
Plenty was working against the Cavaliers on Monday night. A Sunday morning cross-country flight.
