According to Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer, the city has won the bid to host the NBA's All-Star Game in 2017.

This will be the second time the city has hosted the event. It previously hosted the event in 1991, when Dee Brown won the Slam Dunk Contest with this dunk, Craig Hodges of the Chicago Bulls repeated as Three-Point Champion and the East beat the West after Karl Malone interfered with a potential game-winner 3-pointer by Kevin Johnson.
