The Charlotte Hornets recently made some final cuts to their team to trim their roster to 15 players for the regular season. Perry Ellis was one of the players that the team waived. According to D-League Digest, the undrafted big man “will be joining the Greensboro Swarm” this year.
This was the likely situation for Ellis once he signed with the Hornets in the summer. Perry was still recovering from sports hernia surgery that he had in the offseason when Charlotte signed him to their training camp roster. Most experts expected the young big man to play in the NBA Developmental League for the Greensboro Swarm this year to learn and improve.
