Charlotte Hornets’ swingman. Nicolas Batum, will compete in the 2016 Rio Olympics this summer with the French national basketball team. Nic will play alongside four other NBA players with France as well as former NBA professionals. This will be the second time that he competes in an Olympic tournament.
It wasn’t clear if Batum would play for France this summer as he was going to be a free agent but a deal between him and the Charlotte Hornets was quickly struck and he will now be able to compete in the olympics. Nic and the team came to an agreement on a five-year, $120 million contract at the beginning of free agency on July 1st.
