With the Charlotte Hornets looking at all possible ways to improve their roster and their shooting, Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer reported that the team met with University of Nevada-Las Vegas guard Rashad Vaughn at the NBA Draft combine:
Arizona forward Stanley Johnson and Nevada-Las Vegas guard Rashad Vaughn – both strong shooters – met with the team this week…
We have gone over the good and bad of Stanley Johnson, with a surprisingly strong reaction from Hornets fans(mostly in favor of taking Johnson), but we have not look at Vaughn.
If the Hornets were to go in a different direction at the number nine pick, either by taking a player like Willie Cauley-Stein, trading their pick, or nabbing someone who unexpectedly falls to them, then the Charlotte second round pick would almost have to be used on a shooting wing.
