Charlotte Hornets guard James Bouknight was arrested for driving while impaired on Sunday days after being nabbed for speeding and reckless driving, according to Mecklenburg County Sheriff’s Office.
Police stopped Bouknight, 22, at 1:51 a.m. on Sunday before taking him into custody.
A $2,500 bond was given to the Hornets’ 2021 first round draft pick.
The team released a statement on Bouknight’s arrest.
“We are aware of the incident involving James Bouknight and are in the process of gathering additional information,” the team said. “We will have no further comment at this time.
