J.P. Macura, the former college fan favorite at Xavier, has spent the entire season playing for the Greensboro Swarm, the Charlotte Hornets‘ G-League affiliate. Now, he’ll get his first chance to join the big club this season, as the team has transferred him to the Hornets.
Macura signed a two-way contract with the Hornets after going undrafted in 2018. He played all four years of college basketball at Xavier, where he earned the reputation of being a gritty player that can hit three’s and make all the hustle plays.
Being on a two-way contract means that he can spend up to 45 days with the Hornets, and when he’s not with the Hornets, he’ll be developing his game with the Swarm in the G-League.
