Charlotte Hornets’ Big Man, Al Jefferson, Suspended Five Games For Violating Anti-Drug Program

Al Jefferson who is already out two to three weeks with a left calf strain, has now been suspended for five games by the NBA for violating the NBA-NBAPA Anti-Drug Program. The suspension will be served as soon as Big Al returns from his current injury.

The Charlotte Hornets have released this statement about Jefferson’s suspension:

“We are disappointed in Al’s decisions that led to this suspension. As an organization, we do not condone this behavior. We have addressed this with Al. He is regretful and understands that we expect him to learn from this mistake.”

Al Jefferson released his own statement that was an apology to the team and to the fans.
