So, the Charlotte Hornets finally used that last roster spot after waiting for the right opportunity 55 games into the regular season.
After not making any trades prior to the trade deadline, I figured the Hornets would be aggressive on the buyout market. I was correct, as the team is bringing in Shelvin Mack, in what should be a very good addition to a team with playoff aspirations. Shams Charania of The Athletic broke the news first.
Mack signed with the Grizzlies during the off-season, and had played really well for them. Memphis ultimately decided to trade the guard from Butler to Atlanta on deadline day, but the Hawks quickly waived him.
